Any food that’s high in protein such as steak and lamb digest much slower than fresh fruits and vegetables. As your mind prepares to go into sleep mode, your body will be working hard to digest all that protein. If you’re eating late at night, stick to fresh produce and up your protein intake during the day.

Fatty foods can also loosen the lower esophageal sphincter, the barrier between the stomach and the esophagus, making it even easier for acid to get in all the wrong places.
Coffee is an obvious one that you should stay away from at night due to it's caffeine content.If its a must have a hot drink before bed, try something a little more soothing – herbal teas like chamomile or green tea.
Dark chocolates are considered to be good for brain and memory. But there is no doubt that it is a high-calorie food. So eating dark chocolates before bedtime is a big “No”. A small or a big piece of chocolate may work as a dessert for you, but being rich in caffeine and other stimulants, it will make you more active, putting your mind to work, rather than allowing you to have a peaceful night.
